Source Essay times

Hey...I feel bad posting a question the last week of class...but...I need to know! I took the jumbo practice test yesterday and I was a little surprised by the source timed essay. We had always practiced with an hour and the ones inthe book we have used all year suggest 55 minutes; but the one on this test on gave 40 minutes! For a moment I stared in shock but quickly got to work and ended up finishing on time. But, is this a new rule? Or is it an old rule since this practice test is from 2007? What length are source timed essay really supposed to be?

I was told that students had 15 minutes to read the sources and 40 to write. That's the info I was given!
